Deep Green Crystalline Glaze with Turquoise-Green Contrast
Malachite Studio Line Crystalline Glaze develops dark green to charcoal crystalline pools with brighter turquoise-green areas breaking through the fired surface. The sample shows rounded, overlapping dark formations alongside vivid green openings, creating a high-contrast mineral appearance with strong visual movement across the glaze.
Choose Malachite when you want a darker crystalline result with striking green contrast rather than an even single-colour glaze. Crystal size, colour and distribution can change with glaze thickness, clay body and firing conditions, so use the fired sample as a guide and test your chosen application and firing schedule before using the glaze on important work.
- Known to flow during firing, so keep heavier application away from the base and allow for glaze movement.
- A standard Cone 6 firing at around 1220°C can develop crystal formations with a soak.
- Extended or stepped cooling can encourage larger or more complex crystal growth.
