Vivid Blue Crystalline Glaze with Warm Earthy Contrast
Cavansite Studio Line Crystalline Glaze develops vivid blue crystal formations across a warm earthy base, creating strong contrast between the cool crystalline areas and the surrounding tan-brown surface. The fired sample shows blue bursts in varied sizes, giving the glaze a lively mineral character where the crystalline effect becomes a prominent part of the finished decoration.
Choose Cavansite when you want distinct blue crystalline growth rather than a uniform glaze colour. Crystal size, colour and distribution can shift with glaze thickness, clay body and firing conditions, so the sample should be treated as a guide rather than a guaranteed pattern. Test your chosen application and firing schedule before using the glaze on important work.
- Known to flow during firing, so keep heavier application away from the base and allow for glaze movement.
- A standard Cone 6 firing at around 1220°C can develop crystal formations with a soak.
- Extended or stepped cooling can encourage larger or more complex crystal growth.
